FINGAL ATHLETIC TO HOST SOCCER TOURNAMENT IN SWORDS

Swords based soccer club, Fingal Athletic are hosting a one day soccer tournament in Swords on Saturday 19 July 2008. The tournament will involve eight adult soccer teams from the local community in what should be a very competitive tournament. The first match is scheduled to begin at 11am in ___________  and the games are expected to continue till 6pm.

The event will be sponsored by Noel Peacock from Peacocks Steakhouse Bar and Grill. The sponsor will provide players in the tournament with snacks and refreshments after the games have finished.

Commenting on the tournament, David Gibney, Chairperson of Fingal Athletic said, “This will be the first ever competition for the Noel Peacock trophy. All the players are really looking forward to a very competitive and exciting tournament. We were hoping to get as many local clubs involved as possible and we’ve managed to get a few of them to commit. Hopefully the tournament will be a success because it’s something we intend to host every year.”

“We will have two groups of four in each league. The winners of the two leagues will progress to the final which will take place at 5pm on Saturday afternoon,” concluded Mr. Gibney.
